In October 1994, 11-year old Han-Na Chang entered the Fifth Rostropovich International Cello Competition in Paris in order to play for and meet the great cellist Mstislav Rostropovich. She was awarded the First Prize and the Contemporary Music Prize unanimously by the jury led by Rostropovich.

This performance was recorded on 15th October 1994, at the Final Round of the above Competition.
